Help Ride Me Again

This song tells my story, what riding means to me, and why I’m fighting so hard to get back in the saddle. ❤️🐴

Horseback riding has given me freedom, confidence, and a feeling that’s honestly hard to put into words. Right now, I need your help to ride again.

Join me for my Help Me Ride Again fundraiser at Duke’s on August 8, 2026. Funds raised will help repair SIRE’s broken lift, find the right horse for me to ride again, and renovate a van to transport the minis.

[VERSE]

I was born fighting battles most folks never see

Learning how to find my voice when it didn’t come easily

I’ve heard the whispers, felt the stairs,

I’ve carried all the weight

But I never let this wheelchair tell me what could be my fate

I found freedom in the saddle

I felt the wind across my face

[PRE-CHORUS]

For a little while the world and

I were moving at the same pace

Those horses gave me confidence, they helped me find my way

And they’re the reason that

I’m standing here with something left to say

So come on out to Dukes,

help me ride again

Help me chase that feeling that

I’ve missed since way back when

Every ticket, every dollar, every hand that’s reaching out

Tells me

I’m not riding this long road alone now

I’ve spent my life proving

That I’ll be alright where

I am when people saw my wheelchair

First I showed them who

I am, I’ve laughed and cried and stumbled

But I always found my feet even when the road got rough

And every step felt

Now I’m dreaming of a horse that’s waiting somewhere down the line

A partner for the journey, one that’s meant to be mine

And every person showing up becomes a part of that dream

More than just a fundraiser, you’re believing right with me

[VERSE]

So come on out to

Duke’s, help me ride again

Help me find the strength and joy

I’ve always found back then

With country songs

And laughter underneath these Texas skies

You’re helping me remember that hope never really dies

When I swing back in that saddle and feel that horse begin to move

Every mile that brought me here will suddenly make sense too

I’ll carry every kindness and every heart that’s helped me through

And every ride from then on will be because of you

So come on out to

[CHORUS]

Dukes, help me ride again

Help me turn this chapter into something more than that

The music’s playing, dreams are waiting

And I still believe somehow, if we all come together

I’ll be riding again now

I’ll be riding again now, yeah,

I’ll be riding again now

With the wind in my hair and the reins in my hands

I’ll be riding again now if we all come together

I’ll be riding again now
