Relying on technology such as your communicational devices can both be a blessing and a curse at the same time. When all of them break within a month, your world comes crashing down. Luckily, I have a membership at Best Buy’s Geek Squad that provides me with tech support. They are incredible with me! Understanding that my world depends on my computers working, the Geek Squad always is there to help me when my world of technology comes crashing down.
At first, my computer started crashing. Remember, I cannot call or text someone to help me when my computer crashes. All I can do is scream like nobody’s business until someone comes. Luckily, I have two other computers as a backup. I just used Morse Code with long and short blinks to communicate to my assistant that I needed to switch computers.
However, the second computer did the exact same thing within a few hours. Off to Best Buy, I went! The Geek Squad took a look at my computer and cleaned the disk drive. When I got it back, it was still crashing. I then decided to take one of my computers to Best Buy again to do a factory reset. After I received the computer back, it only crashed once.
Luckily, I have a warranty on the newest computer. Given that the two computers kept crashing, I decided to order a new computer entirely. I was able to send the other computer in for warranty. Plus, I purchased the newest version. However, the sound drive was cutting in and out on the new computer. After I did updates, it was fixed!
In the meantime, TobiiDynavox has sent me a loaner to have me test it after I blogged about how the company is not making my original eye gaze. They sent out a rep a few days after I posted that blog to show me the new device. Her name is Amanda Naylor! That device ended up being my backup. I must admit I am starting to like it! I even purchased one! Look out for another blog explaining how great it is.
Relying on technology is hard, especially for someone like me who depends on it! When technology goes down, my world comes crashing down. Luckily, I know exactly what to do.

Megan, how super frustrating for you! But it sounds like you did what you had to do to be up and running. You’ve got this, girl!
